If you have been looking for counter tops that are beautiful yet strong, granite might the right choice for you. One of the most popular and one of my favorite granites is the Delicatus. It has black, white and gray patterns that runs throughout the stone, but what gives it it’s signature is it’s golden tones. This specific color of granite is tricky because it’s color and pattern can vary tremendously. Some might have a lot of golden tones, while others might not have any at all. Color and name variations include Delicatus White, Delicatus Gold. It all depends on your taste, this is why it is so important to pick out the exact slab you want to use in your home.
Delicatus granite is quarried from a bedrock in Espirito Santo, Brazil. The stone consists of mainly feldspar, quartz and tourmaline. This granite’s crystals vary in size throughout the stone, some very big and some very small. When we polish the granite, an epoxy resin is applied to the surface of the stone to fill any natural pits, cracks, or fissures that may exist. Fear not! This does not detract from the quality or appearance of the stone.
Like I mentioned earlier, this is a tricky granite. Due to its inconsistencies in pattern, Delicatus granite is book-matched. Book-matching is a fancy way of saying that the slabs are cut and polished to create a mirror image of one another. This way it’ll have a consistent flow in pattern, and will make for a much prettier kitchen. Again, make sure you pick our your exact slabs to ensure the look you want in your home.
